Quick setup guide for Coll8

Register for Coll8 and start accessing your pension and any other benefits your employer has enabled for you

1. Register with your personal email

Coll8 belongs to you and you can keep using it even if you change employment. This is why you should register with your personal email, so that your access stays with you.

2. Verify your email

Once you’ve entered your personal email, we send a 6 digit verification code to that email to ensure it is valid.

Please enter the 6 digit code in the Coll8 app as soon as you’ve reveiced it.

3. Get Started

Now you have registered with Coll8, we need to link you to your Legal & General Workplace pension.

Within ‘Get Started’ you will find services that allow you to do this. For example, if Legal & General already hold your email address, it may be possible to use this. Otherwise, you can always provide your pension account number (found on either your membership certificate or your annual statement).

What is Coll8?

Coll8 is an app that enables you to securely access a range of services provided by your employer. Over time we plan to increase the number of services within Coll8 available to you. If you have any ideas what you'd like to see, or any feedback generally, please send it via our feedback service in the Self Help area. Our team will immediately receive your request and contact you if they need further information.

I haven’t received my secret code

Sometime email servers, especially corporate ones that have to handle a large amount of traffic, can take up to a minute to deliver an email. Please give the code time to come through, and try to avoid requesting several in rapid succession, as this will make it hard to work out which is the current one. Also, don’t’ forget to check your junk folders.

My secret code doesn’t work

For security reasons, codes are only valid for a short period of time. If your code is rejected, it may have expired. You will need to re-enter your email to request the secret code again.

I can’t turn on biometrics

Before biometrics works for an app, it must be enabled for the phone itself. You need to enable biometrics within the phone’s settings before coming back to Coll8.

The Get Started service isn’t working

Coll8 registration works by matching the information you supply to the information Legal & General already holds about you. It may be that Legal & General doesn’t hold the data you are providing. There are multiple services for onboarding, so please try a different one and see if that works?

Where do I find my Account Number?

Your account number can be found on your membership certificate or pension benefit statement. Please note that only Workplace Pension account numbers are supported.

What is a workspace?

A workspace is the place where related services are stored for you to use. In addition to your Legal & General services, your employer may have arranged for you to have access to additional services - you will find these in your employer’s workspace.

How do I give you feedback?

You can send feedback at any time using the messaging capability with Coll8 - it’s the chat icon on top right of each service.

I can’t see any workspaces

You need to complete the registration process using the “Get Started” tile. Once you’ve done this, the Coll8 will automatically show you the right workspaces. Coll8 will only show workspaces if you have a live Legal & General Workplace pension. If you have a Workplace pension, but still do not see any workspaces, please contact your normal Legal & General helpdesk at 0345 073 0785. Opening times are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6.00pm. Call charges will vary. We may record and monitor calls.

I can’t see any services in my workspace

Your services should be in your workspace. If no services are visible in the workspace, please raise the issue with us in the Self Help area of the app.

I can’t log into the My Account service

Please contact your normal Legal & General helpdesk at 0345 073 0785 and they will assist you. Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6.00pm. Call charges will vary. We may record and monitor calls.

When I click a service icon I get an error message

If nothing happens or the loading of your Services is slow please send us feedback via the Self Help area of the app. Your message will be received and automatically assigned to one of our team for resolution. Please tell us exactly what icon you tried to click and as much detail about the device you are using as possible.

What data does Coll8 hold about me?

Coll8 stores the following data:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Date of birth
  • Email address
  • National insurance number (if required by the scheme)
  • Workplace pension ID
  • Employee ID
  • Policy number

Coll8 does not access your social media history, posts, comments or any other data in your social media account. Coll8 also stores your consent to terms and conditions which you will be prompted to re-consent to when they expire.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Coll8 uses a range of latest technologies to protect your data at all times. It also doesn’t store your personal information or passwords on the server - they are stored on your local device only.

How can I delete my account?

You can delete your account inside the Coll8 app under Profile > Delete my account. The following data will be deleted from our system:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Date of birth
  • Email address
  • National insurance number (if required by the scheme)
  • Workplace pension ID
  • Employee ID
  • Policy number

You will have to register again in order to login into Coll8.
